Information

Shade netting is made from high-density polyethylene, incorporating UV inhibitors to resist UV degradation caused by the sun's rays. It was developed as a cost-effective and attractive alternative to the traditional galvanised sheeting carport and provides wind, hail, frost and sun protection and boasts a very high water run-off rate, as well as being fire retardant. It allows free air movement, but at the same time provides a shade factor of approx. 90% and can reduce temperature by as much as 10°C.

CONSTRUCTION

Our standard shadeports are constructed as follows:

INFORMATION

1. Steel: Mild steel tubing framework, depending on requirements
2. Foundation: For standard applications, columns are concreted into the ground or expansion bolted/chemical anchored to surface as per requirements
3. Netting: – Netting is a knitted polyethylene material which is light-weight, long lasting, robust, and lock stitched, available in a range of fashionable colours
– The net is then affixed to the frame with galvanised high-tension steel cable
4. Finish: All mild steel is treated with an anti-rust coat of red oxide primer and then finished with a colour coded quick dry enamel, as per customer’s requirement

SIZES

Shade port sizes are indicated by the number of cars they can house, i.e. a single unit can accommodate 1 x vehicle.
Sizes therefore include, but are not limited to:

1. SINGLE UNIT: 2.5m x 5m
2. DOUBLE UNIT: 5m x 5m
3. TRIPLE UNIT: 7.5m x 5m
4. QUAD UNIT: 10m x 5m

MAINTENANCE

Shadeports usually require little or no maintenance at all.
In the event of damage as result of extreme weather conditions or
misuse, nets can be replaced at a relatively low cost.

TYPES OF SHADEPORT

1. FOUR POSTER SHADEPORT (STANDARD STRUCTURE): This structure consists of 4 upright columns – one placed at each corner of the structure. Can be supplied in either domed or A-frame design.
2. CANTILEVER SHADEPORT: This structure consists of 2 upright columns at the front of the structure which allows for total access when turning into the parking bay. As there are no columns at the back of this structure, the possibility of accidents is greatly decreased. Can be supplied in either domed or A-frame design.
3. FOUR POSTER SHADEPORT WITH RECESSED COLUMNS: This structure also consists of 4 upright columns, however the 2 back columns are slightly receded which improves ability to enter and exit parking bays without incidence. Can be supplied in either domed or A-frame design.
4. WALL-MOUNTED/ SEMI WALL-MOUNTED SHADEPORT: As the name suggests, either the entire structure is mounted to a wall using expansion bolts, or only 2 columns are used for leverage and the other side is wall mounted. Can be supplied in either domed or A-frame design.
5. DIY Kits: Additionally we offer repairs on existing structures – nets and poles, as well as supply-only
or DIY kits as an extremely cost-effective alternative.
